Thank you for taking part in the UMaine Alumni Association’s annual tuition raffle, sponsored by University Credit Union!
The prize is a payment of at least $9,270, the dollar equivalent of the University of Maine’s current tuition rate for a full-time, in-state undergraduate student enrolled in 30 credit hours. Payment is contingent on the beneficiary’s enrollment at the University of Maine in Orono for the 2021-22 academic year regardless of the beneficiary’s undergraduate or graduate status or state of residency.
Tuition Raffle rules:
Raffle participants must be 18 years of age or older. No purchase, entry fee, or donation is required to participate in the raffle. The tuition prize pertains to the University of Maine in Orono and not to other public or private institutions. Entries must be submitted online through UMaineTuitionRaffle.com.
Participants may enter up to 10 times per day. Additional entries beyond the 10 entry maximum per individual will be cleared from the system. Alumni Association employees and board members are not eligible to participate.

Meet Last Year’s Winner!
Kelsi Day ’22 (left) was the 2020 beneficiary of the UMaine Alumni Association’s annual tuition raffle. On May 6, UMaine Alumni Association President and CEO John Diamond ’77, ’89G drew the winning ticket, which was purchased by Kelsi’s mother, Melissa Drisko Day (right).
Shortly after Melissa Drisko Day was notified of her luck, she FaceTimed Kelsi and asked her to watch a video that she wanted to share. Unbeknownst to Kelsi, it was the video of the moment her name was announced as the raffle winner.
“I screamed,” Kelsi recalled. “I never thought in a million years I would ever get a chance to win such a large amount of money towards my tuition. This money means so much to not only me, but my hard-working parents who are paying for all three of their children to attend college right now.”

You may direct the prize to benefit someone else, such as a child, relative, or friend planning to attend UMaine for the 2021-22 academic year. Or you may also choose to have the university apply the prize to a student in significant need of financial aid by entering “Student in Need” in the “Designate a Student” section during checkout.
What if I (or the student I want to benefit from the prize) will receive other forms of tuition assistance? Can the prize be applied to room and board or books?
